I saw a documentary of Michael with Dr Oz about a year ago. He’s amazing – he was actually skating with Dr Oz, he was better at skating than he was walking. I believe that “disease” is different for everyone, and it’s due to the way people react or don’t react to it.

Richard, I don’t know but you might be right, that at least a the beginning the use of alcohol might have been therapeutic. What I strongly believe that meditation can deeply effect dis-ease with symptoms like Michael Fox experiences. And there would be no problem if getting addicted to it

I wonder if Fox experienced what other people with tremors often do: That small amounts of alcohol may reduce tremor, even though drinking large amounts of alcohol can make the tremor situation worse. In that way, it can be very tricky. A little bit so that I can shake less in this situation. But then, relaxed with reduced inhibition, over-drinking ensues.

Hi Tim,
He definitely had to struggle. I admire people who are ready for a change and go on as he did! I did counseling for alcohol addicted members of a large administration in Germany and know how much courage it takes to face the challenges of life without the drug.

Wow! I didn’t know about all the struggles Michael J Fox has had throughout his life. I did know about his battle with Parkinson’s, but not the other stuff.
