WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO BEFORE YOU DIE?

 by Leelja Baur-Davidson

This morning I hit the button on my TV set to check the weather forecast. For some reason I ended up at the MTV channel and a promotion for a series soon to be started here. The title of the series is “THE BURRIED LIFE”. What an odd title I thought and watch for a few moments longer. What was enfolding before my eyes and ears was something brilliant.

The true life story of four regular guys on a mission to complete a list of ’100 Things To Do Before You Die’ and to help and encourage others to go after their own lists.

What Do You Want To Do Before You Die? THE BURIED LIFE

The bewildering question “what do you want to do before you die?” took me to their website The buried life and to signing up for their network.

When you sign-up at The Buried Life -Network
you’re asked right away five questions “what do you want to do before you die?” You even have the chance to submit your list with a 100 things you want to do before you die and if you’re lucky the four will help you to do one of the 100 things on your list.

Ben, Duncan, Dave, and Jonnie set out originally on the mission to complete a list of 100 things to do before you die. Along the journey to do that they begun the help people to reach their goals on their lists. It is so intriguing and contagious what they do. I find myself so encouraged to find 100 things I want to do!

What happens, when you ask yourself the question “What do you want to do before you die?” Do you have answers right away? Write them down on your list. The benefit of doing that – writing down what you want to do is an energy boost, a way to fulfill your dreams. Imagine you complete your list of your first 100 things to do before you die – you can do a second one or more!

How does it impact your life – what would you do? Let’s talk about and share our thoughts. Looking forward to read your comment.

    Interesting questions to ask oneself.
Definitely something I would need some
    time to consider.

    Thanks for sharing.

That’s such an incredibly deep question! Wow, there are so many things to do… It challenges us to focus on the important things in life, and be finite about defining them as achievable!

    Leelja,

I think it’s a great question we all should ask ourselves.
Do the things we want before we die is something everyone should be able to experience.

And the good thing is that it’s now more opportunities than ever to create the lifestyle you want.

If you haven’t seen the movie “The Bucket list” with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson I can recommend it. It’s great and makes you think more about your own life.

    Thanks for sharing!

Wow, what an inspiring post! So many of us live our lives in a state of wanting. When I think about my true desires I realize that most of the things on the list are things I already have – a happy, loving family, our health, a home in a place of my own choosing, time freedom, and a bright future.

Of course, there’s always that world peace thing to work towards!

    Kathy,
Thanks for the comment. It is really inspiring to write down these 100 things you want to do before you die. That …before you die gives it a kick, a time line and a different approach to many things, the important ones and the less important ones.

    Hi Leelja,

When I pondered the question, I realized I’d already gone through at least 100. As an example, I found my dream woman and bride, have two absolutely fantastic young daughters, have skied many of the slopes I’ve been aching to point my tips down, scuba dived world class sites and . . .

However, they were not on a list and they didn’t have the kind of “purpose driven design” that my “first list” will have.

A great question, and one I’m looking forward to putting a pencil to in the near future.

I have to agree with Steve Hachey and Kimberly Castleberry. . .it is something to focus on and take the appropriate amount of time to consider.

    Hi Joe,

Sorry for the belated response. But a shoulder injury keeps me still from writing much at a time. Anyway what a wonderful comment you wrote! – Isn’t it great that after the first list is fulfilled to put together another one? In the autumn of my life I was wondering a while ago if I could find things I would like to do before I die. Guess what – my new list is growing fast.

    Namaste,
    Leelja

This is something I’ve been asking myself for years. It really is a personal question and each person’s list tells a lot about their personality.

I have run into the Buried Life before, but I never knew what it was. It’s an interesting concept.

    Hi Sam,
thanks for stopping by. Wonderful ideas for a list of 100 things to do before I die. :) One question what would you like to be famous for?
Just two days ago I started a new list of hundred things I want to do before I die. I traveled many countries in my life already but there are some place left I would like to see and spend some time there like Anchor Wat in Cambodia and Tibet, and a long white beach somewhere in the Caribbean together with my kids and grand-kids, who live in Europe and I don’t see them very often. Just a few things from my list.
    Have a great future,
    Leelja
